About 4 a.m. on Dec. 17, 2017, Hyde Park police were conducting a traffic stop as part of a DWI patrol.
After the driver was arrested and taken back to the police station for processing, Patrol Officer Plass remained on scene to assist Just In Time Towing with removing the vehicle.
Jeff Ledoux saw a vehicle approaching the scene at a high rate of speed and also veering towards the patrol car and tow truck.
Without hesitation, Ledoux pulled Officer Plass out of path of the speeding vehicle.
The driver of that vehicle was subsequently stopped and arrested for DWI.
Ledoux acted without thought of his own safety and very likely saved the life of Officer Plass.
